COVID-19 Update 3/23/20

An Update for Monday, March 23rd:

Cross County School District served over 50% of our students lunch again today. Every day this week, lunches will include breakfast for the next morning.

CCSD wants to keep bringing food directly to our students and in order to do so, safety has to continue to be our number one priority. In order to protect our families and follow the CDC’s guidelines for social distancing, we would like to ask your help as we try a new way of delivering food:

  • We will knock on your door or honk to let you know your food has been delivered. The driver will then leave the food at your door and back away to a safe distance (6 feet). Please open your door, give the driver a wave, and take your food. If you have a screen door, you are welcome to leave your door ajar and we will slip your meal into your open door.

Due to food safety concerns, drivers cannot leave food at your door without seeing that you’re there to pick it up.  So give them a wave after you hear that your food has arrived!

While our drivers and staff wish they could give you a hug or high five, we hope this limited-contact way of delivering food allows us to keep feeding our students and help us do our part to bend the curve of COVID-19.

If you have any questions about food service, please reach out. We want to support you in any way we can, even over Spring Break.
