Meet Jackson Poe

Jackson Poe is the new Agricultural Science teacher at Cross County School District. While attending Valley View School District, Mr. Poe was a member of FFA and was active in agriculture courses as a high school student. He competed in Career Development Events (CDE), was an active participant in the judging events, and showed and provided livestock at local shows. Mr. Poe was also a member of the basketball and track teams at Valley View. 

Mr. Poe graduated and enrolled at Arkansas State University in the fall of 2014. He began his studies in the College of Agriculture with hopes of becoming a veterinarian but eventually found his purpose in teaching and developing the future of agriculture in the high school setting. During his college years, Mr. Poe was a member of Collegiate FFA, Alpha Tau Alpha, the garden club, and also worked as a professor's assistant. He also served in a leadership role at judging, CDE, and LDE events held at Arkansas State University. Mr. Poe graduated in 2019. 

Mr. Poe's family is active in their community-- his father is a detective for the Jonesboro Police Department and his mother is a second grade teacher at Valley View Elementary. His younger sister is in the radiography program at Arkansas State University. Outside of school, Mr. Poe is a father to his daughter, Jaylee. He is a rodeo athlete where he rides bareback bronc. Mr. Poe helps to organize rodeos on the weekend and loves to ride horses whenever he can!
