Dr. Cade Wilson

Cross County High School hosted a Scholastic Banquet Tuesday night, April 25, 2023, to honor students with impeccable academic records. The event recognized 58 students for their achievements in the classroom.

Dr. Cade Wilson was the keynote speaker for the event. Dr. Wilson is a 1995 graduate of Cross County High School and is an optometrist. Dr. Wilson spoke about how Cross County School District has impacted his life and about the opportunities that graduates have had even though they are from a small school.

“In my class alone we had several educators, a plumber that owns his own company, an electrician that owns his own company, some hair stylists, welders, a vice president of one of the largest privately owned banks in Arkansas, a computer programmer, a veterinarian, and an attorney in south Arkansas,” said Dr. Wilson. “That’s just the ones I can think of without looking them up.”

Dr. Wilson told students the value of knowing who they are, having a can-do attitude and being willing to put in the work.

“You are from Cross County, you can achieve great things or you wouldn’t be invited here and your choice determines how many accomplishments that you get to celebrate,” said Dr. Wilson.
