Carly Owens and Susan Morgan

Cross County, AR – National School Counseling Week 2025, themed “School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive,” is being celebrated from February 3–7, 2025. Sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), this special week highlights the invaluable role school counselors play in supporting students' academic success, career readiness, and social-emotional development.

Cross County School District is proud to recognize the dedication and hard work of its school counselors, Susan Morgan at Cross County High School and Carly Owens at Cross County Elementary Technology Academy. These professionals provide vital services that help students explore their strengths, set academic and career goals, and develop essential life skills.

“School counselors are instrumental in removing barriers to learning and helping students reach their full potential,” said Dr. Nathan Morris, Superintendent of Cross County School District. “We appreciate the impact that Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Carly have on our students, staff, and community every day.”

School counselors work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed. They provide guidance on academic planning, career exploration, and emotional well-being, creating a comprehensive approach to student success.

Cross County School District encourages students, staff, and community members to take a moment to show their appreciation for Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Owens. A simple thank-you note or kind word can go a long way in recognizing their contributions.

Parents and community members with questions about school counseling programs are encouraged to contact Mrs. Morgan or Mrs. Carly at their respective schools. For more general information about National School Counseling Week, visit the ASCA website at www.schoolcounselor.org.
