CHERRY VALLEY - Cross County School District is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Nathan Morris has been selected to serve as President of the Arkansas Rural Education Association (AREA). Dr. Morris will serve a two-year term leading the statewide organization, which is affiliated with the National Rural Education Association.
The Arkansas Rural Education Association is dedicated to improving instruction and promoting quality education for all students in schools throughout the state. AREA provides a unified voice for rural school districts, advocating for their needs with legislative bodies and public officials. The organization also supports the integrity of rural districts and honors the committed educators who serve the outstanding young minds of Arkansas.

Through advocacy, professional development, and collaboration, AREA works to promote quality experiences and opportunities for all Arkansas students, enabling them to compete in an ever-changing and interconnected world.
Dr. Morris’s leadership will help guide AREA’s continued efforts to strengthen rural schools, support educators, and ensure the success of students across the state. Dr. Morris has been superintendent of Cross County School District since 2017.
