December 2 was Special Education Day and while we weren't in school on Saturday, we wanted to take today to celebrate the incredible dedication our our special education teachers and the vital work they do to support our students.
Special Education Day commemorated the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) into law in 1975. This landmark legislation marked a turning point in ensuring that all students, regardless of ability, have the right to receive and free and appropriate public education.
Although Special Education Day has passed, let's carry the spirit forward and continue to champion an environment where every student feels supported and empowered.
