❄️ Weather Update for Cross County Families ❄️

With the potential for winter weather later this week, Cross County School District is closely monitoring conditions and any possible impact on travel and school operations. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.

As we prepare, we ask parents and guardians to please make sure your contact information is up to date and that notifications are turned on in the district app. Having current phone numbers, email addresses, and app notifications enabled is the best way to ensure you receive weather updates, schedule changes, and time sensitive messages as decisions are made.

We will share updates through our official communication channels including social media, the district website, app notifications, and text messages.

Did you know that most people give up on their New Year's resolutions by mid-January?! Well, that is NOT the case for our 4th grade! At the beginning of the semester they reviewed our seven core values (humility, self-discipline, compassion, respect, courage, integrity& gratitude), sorted different scenarios based of our core values, and then selected one they could work on as well as the steps they would need to take to meet their goals. Way to set an example for us 4th! Keep growing in character, it's showing!

What a great day it has been welcoming our students back for the first day after Christmas Break.
Classrooms were full of energy, smiles, and excitement as learning picked right back up. It was so good to see our students reconnect with friends, teachers, and routines, and to feel that familiar sense of purpose across our campuses.
We are proud of the way our students and staff jumped back in today and we are excited for all that lies ahead this semester 💙🤍

An Open Letter to the Cross County School District & Community On Friday afternoon, December 5th, something truly special happened in Cross County. Under the overcast sky and in front of a sea of blue, our Cross County Thunderbirds capped off an unforgettable season by winning the AA State Football Championship. This victory belongs not just to our players and coaches, but to our entire community. To our student-athletes: What you accomplished this season is nothing short of remarkable. Your discipline, toughness, teamwork, and heart were on full display every single Friday. You carried the name “Thunderbird” with pride, and you represented our school and our county with class, grit, and determination. You will always be remembered as champions, not just for what you won, but for how you played the game. To Coach Van Paschal and the Thunderbird football staff: Thank you for your leadership, preparation, and relentless belief in these young men. Championships are built long before the lights come on, through early mornings, late nights, accountability, and a commitment to excellence. Your dedication has shaped not only athletes, but young men who now understand what it means to pursue something bigger than themselves. To our teachers, staff, parents, cheerleaders, band, alumni, fans, and to every single person who filled those stands: you made the difference. The crowd on Friday afternoon was incredible. You brought the energy, the belief, and the momentum, or MO, as Coach Paschal calls it, that championship moments are made of. When our team needed a boost, you delivered it. That atmosphere was electric, and it reminded the entire state exactly what Cross County Thunderbird pride looks like. This championship is a reflection of what makes our community special. It reflects the dedication of our coaches, the commitment of our students, the support of our families, and the pride of an entire county that shows up when it matters most. Moments like this remind us that when we come together, incredible things happen. We are beyond proud. We are grateful. And we are still celebrating. From the bottom of my heart—thank you, Cross County, for believing, for showing up, and for supporting our Thunderbirds every step of the way. What a day! What a season! What a championship! This is who we are, this is Cross County.

Thankful for this reminder and for friends like these who remind us of things that matter more!
