This week, the 8th graders created "Egg Cars" in Ms. Armstrong's science class. The students had to use their knowledge of Newton's Laws of Motion to build their cars and keep their egg safe as their "Egg Car" traveled down the ramp and crashed at the bottom.

Ms. Armstrong's 7th grade science class has been learning about chemical changes. They had to identify evidence of chemical changes by conducting lab station activities.

Our Anatomy & Physiology students were given the opportunity to read the Skeletal System children's book they created to 2nd graders at CCETA recently. It was a fun experience for all! Thanks to Ms. Amanda and Ms. Tiffany for letting us visit.

Congratulations to this week’s Be Excellent Challenge recipients, Jesse and Ashton!

Wow! CCETA earned $31,000 from the state of Arkansas as a 2019 Reward School for being in the top 5% in the state for student growth! Thank you again to our teachers and students for all of their hard work!

Join us tonight, beginning at 5:00, as the Thunderbirds take on the Wynne Yellowjackets in the first home game of the season. 7th grade girls will play first followed by the Jr. girls and Sr. girls. Come out and support some Thunderbird basketball! We hope to see you there.

Help us congratulate our most recent “Be Excellent Challenge” winners, Brayden and Valerie! Way to go!

We had 7 students participate in the Area 8 Special Olympics Bowling Competition in Wynne. They will go on to participate in the State Bowling Competition on December 5th. Let’s cheer on these Thunderbirds!

It’s time for Cross County basketball! The junior high boys and girls will play this Saturday in the Earle Jamboree. The students will need to be at the school by 8:30 AM. The boys will play at 10:00 and 11:00 with the girls playing at 10:30 and 11:30.

Congratulations to Makala Clayton, our most recent Be Excellent Challenge winner!

Thank you to JA of Cross County for delivering food for our weekend backpack program and reading to some of our classrooms!

Thank you APSRC for recognizing our elementary school with a banner! Earning an ‘A’ rating for two years in a row is a huge accomplishment and a testament of how hard our teachers and students work. We will hang this banner proudly!

Happy Halloween from CCHS!

Join us Friday night as we recognize our senior athletes of fall sports and the Thunderbirds take on the Midland Mustangs. The program will begin at 6:30 PM with kick-off at 7:00 PM.

Under Mrs. Nikki Williams’s leadership, CCHS’s Thunderbirds Against Drugs (TAD) group was awarded a grant from The Arkansas Sheriff’s Association to purchase materials and supplies to help the student group meet its goals and fund Red Ribbon Week. We would like to thank Cross County Sheriff, David West for the opportunity so we can continue to grow student leaders and bring awareness to all students.

Our partners at NIET caught wind of CCETA's recent accomplishments and shared them nationwide. NIET's TAP System has provided our school with support and guidance in our efforts to put student learning at the center of all that we do.

Congratulations to our very first Be Excellent Challenge winner of the school year: Harrison McGee!

AMI packets have all been placed on high school student laptops or students were given a paper copy. If your student received a paper copy, keep it in a safe place until needed. As a reminder, we will use AMI work in the event school is closed for an emergency or inclement weather. If your child did not get one, please contact the office with questions. Thank you for supporting our school!

Homecoming activities were a hit! The parade included so many creative floats with the week’s theme: “Battle of the Decades”. You could feel that school spirit from Kindergarten all the way to the Seniors! What a great way to end the school week and cheer on those Thunderbirds!

Mrs. Fisher’ class concluded their study of The Outsiders and to close it out, the students dressed as the two rival character groups: the Socs and the Greasers! What a great ending to a outstanding novel study!
