🌟 Happy Administrative Professionals Day! 🌟
Today, we’re celebrating the heart of every office—the ones who keep everything organized, on track, and running smoothly. From managing schedules to answering phones, solving problems, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks—our administrative professionals are the glue that holds it all together.
At Cross County, we are especially thankful for the friendly faces who greet visitors, support our staff, and care for our students with such grace and excellence.
💙 You are appreciated.
💙 You are seen.
💙 You make a difference every single day.
Join us in giving a big THANK YOU to these behind-the-scenes heroes who help our school succeed in educating the whole child!

Today is Bus Driver Appreciation Day, and we’re throwing open the doors to say THANK YOU to the incredible men and women who safely transport our students each and every day!
From early morning pickups to late evening drop-offs, our bus drivers are often the first and last school staff members our students see each day—and they show up with patience, kindness, and dedication that doesn’t go unnoticed.
Whether it’s braving rainy mornings, icy roads, or energetic passengers, they do it all with a smile and a heart for kids.
Let’s show our appreciation in the comments—drop a “thank you” to your favorite driver below!
Thank you, Cross County bus drivers, for being an essential part of our students’ day and helping us educate the whole child—safely and consistently!

Thankful for this Friday!

💰 Our 2nd graders had some special guests yesterday!
Ladies from First Financial Bank stopped by to talk with our students about the value of money and how to start a savings account. From needs vs. wants to the importance of saving for the future, they made learning about money fun and easy to understand!
Thank you, First Financial Bank, for investing in our students and helping them build smart habits early! 🏦👏

Wednesday morning Road Closure Update
Highway 42 remains covered with water at the L’Anguille River. Mrs. Christina’s bus will make all regular stops, then detour using Highway 42 to Highway 193 to Highway 364 to reach Vanndale.
We encourage all drivers to use this alternate route until the water recedes and conditions improve. Thank you for your caution and cooperation.
🚧 Wednesday Afternoon Traffic Update 🚧
Water is still over the road at the L'Anguille River on Hwy 42, so that section remains closed. Drivers should take Million Dollar Road to Vanndale, then turn onto Hwy 364 and continue to Hwy 193 to reach Hickory Ridge.
Our buses will follow this same route. Please note: this detour may cause a slight delay for students who ride with Christina.
We hope the water recedes soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Important Bus Route Update for Monday Morning
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow! Our transportation team has been out checking roadways this weekend, and we wanted to share a few important updates due to flooding:
Highway 42 just west of the school at the L’Anguille River is currently under water.
All Hickory Ridge car riders and student drivers will need to use Hwy 64 to get to school.
Bus Route Changes:
• Ms. Christina’s Route – No change to pickup times, but she will reroute via Hwy 64 to reach the school. These students will be allowed to eat breakfast upon arrival.
• Ms. Dana Hill (Mini Bus) – No change to pickup times, but she will also reroute via Hwy 64. These students will also be allowed to eat breakfast upon arrival.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we work to get everyone to school safely. We can’t wait to see our Thunderbirds back in the building tomorrow morning!
Electricity has been restored to Delta Gin, and Prom is ON for tonight as planned! We’re so excited to see our students shine and celebrate together—it’s going to be a night to remember.
Here’s the updated schedule for this evening:
• Pictures with Camille – 4:00 PM
• Senior Walk – 5:00 PM
• Prom – 5:30 to 8:30 PM
Huge thanks to everyone who worked quickly to get things back up and running. Let’s get ready to dance the night away!

April showers bring May flowers...and a new character focus!
