🌟 Welcome to Our New 2nd Grade Teacher, Lisa Paschal! 🌟 We are thrilled to introduce Lisa Paschal as our new 2nd grade teacher at Cross County Elementary! Mrs. Lisa graduated from Brinkley High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She has been the wife of football coach Van for 39 years, and together they have 5 children: Tyler, Hope, Hannah, Becca, and Rachel. Lisa loves painting, crafts, cooking, and taking care of her 2 dogs. She is passionate about teaching reading and connecting with young children. Her favorite sport is football, her favorite color is pink, and her favorite snacks are chocolate and Dr. Pepper. Excited for football season, Lisa looks forward to winning lots of games and meeting her new students. She is very excited to be a Thunderbird and is eager to support Cross County Schools. 🌟 Welcome to Our New Teacher, Christina Jarrett! 🌟 We are excited to introduce Christina Jarrett as our new 7th grade math and high school math interventions teacher! Christina graduated from Arkansas State in May with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in General Studies. She has supported members of TAD by traveling with student representatives to Washington D.C. Currently living in Hickory Ridge, Christina has been married for 15 years and has 5 children and 5 grandchildren. She loves to travel, read, and spend time with her family. Passionate about helping all students learn and become the best versions of themselves, Christina is looking forward to her new role and making a greater impact on students. Having been a Thunderbird since 2006 when she moved to Cross County and her children became students, Christina has loved being part of this great family. She is excited to further her role in the Thunderbird Family and continue contributing to our wonderful community. Join us in welcoming Christina and wishing her an amazing year ahead! 🎉📘✏️

🌟 Welcome to Our New 2nd Grade Teacher, Ms. Raven Boward! 🌟 We are thrilled to introduce Raven Boward as the new 2nd grade teacher at Cross County Elementary! Raven graduated from Harrisburg High School and earned her bachelor's degree in education from Arkansas State University in 2004, followed by a Master's Degree in Educational Theory and Practice in 2011. She has an impressive travel record, having visited 15 countries and 34 states! Raven lives in Harrisburg and enjoys reading, traveling, church, and spending time with family and friends. With 20 years of teaching experience, she is a dedicated educator and a cat lover, with three adorable cats: Biscotti, Archie, and Veronica. Raven is looking forward to making new friends and meeting her students. She is excited to be a part of our close community and to be back home. 🌟 Welcome to Our New Math Teacher, Amanda Semonds! 🌟 We are excited to introduce Mrs. Amanda Semonds as the new math teacher at Cross County High School! Mrs. Semonds will be teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus. She graduated from Brinkley High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Central Arkansas in 1992. Amanda currently lives in Colt with her husband, Billy, and they have two children and three grandchildren. Mrs. Semonds enjoys talking with God while walking her dog, Yeti, and spending time with friends and family. She strives to be a lifelong learner and set an example for those around her. Amanda is looking forward to helping young people strengthen their skills in mathematical thinking, ensuring they can be successful in any area they choose in the future. She is thrilled to be a Thunderbird, appreciating the smaller school environment that allows her to know her students and their families personally. She graduated from Mountain Home Career Academy and the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in 2022 with a Bachelor's of Applied Science, followed by a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas in 2024. Living in Wynne with her husband Johnathan, she enjoys the Atlanta Braves, church, and baking. With five years in education and her second year teaching 5th grade, she loves celebrating her students' achievements and can't wait to see her kiddos grow. She looks forward to finding new ways to serve her community and working with new friends. She is excited to be a Thunderbird, appreciating the support and spirit of our wonderful community. She currently lives in Wynne with her husband Nicholas and their children, Willa Grace, Wyatt, Benjamin, and Henry. Stephanie loves reading and spending time with her family. She strives to create a positive learning environment for her students, showing compassion and understanding with every child. Stephanie looks forward to teaching kindergarten and growing as a teacher. She is thrilled to be a Thunderbird, embracing the welcoming family environment and knowing it's a great place for her children to go to school. Molly graduated from Murphysboro High School and holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Arkansas State University in May. She lives in Cherry Valley with Coach Connor Haag and their 1-year-old son. Molly loves crafting, being outdoors, and spending time with her family. She wants all parents and students to know she will strive to provide a safe and loving learning environment for all her sweet students. Excited for her very first year in her own classroom, Molly looks forward to making wonderful memories with her students and being a part of our welcoming and loving community. 📣 New Pre-K Procedures for the Upcoming School Year 📣 We are excited to share the updated procedures for our Pre-K program to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all our little learners! Morning Drop-Off: - All Pre-K students will be dropped off at the Elementary School each morning. - They will enjoy breakfast in the Elementary School cafeteria. - After breakfast, students will be bussed to the Pre-K building. Lunch: - Students will eat lunch in their classroom to maintain a comfortable and familiar environment. Afternoon Pick-Up: - All car riders will be brought to the Elementary School in the afternoon for pick-up. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we implement these new procedures. 🌞🍎 Summer Feeding Program Starts Tomorrow! 🍎🌞 We are excited to announce that our summer feeding program will begin its first delivery tomorrow! 🚐🚌 Here's the schedule for our first day: Van Deliveries: Caldwell Pharmacy: 11:00 AM Kelley's Restaurant: 11:20 AM Bus Route: Departs from the school at 10:00 AM Travels through Cherry Valley, Bay Village, and Vanndale Additional Van Route: Departs from the school at 10:30 AM Heads to the Hickory Ridge locations We look forward to seeing you there and providing nutritious meals for the kids in our community! There will be an open gym Tuesday, May 28th and Wednesday, May 29th from 4:00PM - 6:00 PM. Anyone interested in high school boys basketball ( grades 10-12) is encouraged to attend. You must have a current physical and be enrolled in the Cross County School District to attend.
